The Things You Can Read welcomes you and thanks you for your readership. We, here at The Things You Can Read, ask your help, if you visit our site regularly, please follow us either via email or Google Friend Connect.  Launched on June 7, 2012, our site has already attracted a great deal of attention.  One of the goals of the site is to feature reviews of Children's Picture Books, Young Adult novels and Adult Literary Fiction/Nonfiction.  A second goal for the blog is to be a resource for teachers of English and writing--with examples of student created writing, writing tips, resource links, and the opportunity to pick the brain of a seasoned English teacher.  To spice things up...every now and then, we'll also include random quotes and thoughts on education and life in general, but our ultimate goal is to reach out into the blogosphere and be a "Book Whisperer" and "Writing Whisperer" to children and adults of all ages.   Thank you for your readership.  Here is to a lifetime filled with reading and writing.

Top 10 Books You’re Embarrassed to Admit You’ve Read

I found the recent posting on Book Riot very interesting.  The post entitled "Top 10 Books You’re Embarrassed to Admit You’ve Read' shared a poll conducted by Book Riot according to the post...

In our [Book Riot] latest reader poll, we asked you to fess up to the books you’ve read but would rather no one know about. 581 Riot readers answered the call, listing 380 unique titles. There’s a lot of variety to be found in the full set of responses, but your readerly shame is undeniably concentrated around a handful of titles.-Book Riot

Personally, I found one of my favorite books on the list, Atlas Shrugged  by Ayn Rand and horror of horrors my beloved Atlas Shrugged  is also on the MOST HATED list as well-see the Venn Diagram below for additional titles that overlapped on the MOST HATED list.  What do you make of the poll? Any of your favorites on the list?  I have to say, I am not embarrassed in the least to admit I am a fan of Atlas Shrugged.  Do you feel this way about any of the titles?  Let us know here at The Things You Can Read!

Happy reading to all! ☮
