> The Things You Can Read: 15 Day Book Blogger Challenge: Day 15

The Things You Can Read welcomes you and thanks you for your readership. We, here at The Things You Can Read, ask your help, if you visit our site regularly, please follow us either via email or Google Friend Connect.  Launched on June 7, 2012, our site has already attracted a great deal of attention.  One of the goals of the site is to feature reviews of Children's Picture Books, Young Adult novels and Adult Literary Fiction/Nonfiction.  A second goal for the blog is to be a resource for teachers of English and writing--with examples of student created writing, writing tips, resource links, and the opportunity to pick the brain of a seasoned English teacher.  To spice things up...every now and then, we'll also include random quotes and thoughts on education and life in general, but our ultimate goal is to reach out into the blogosphere and be a "Book Whisperer" and "Writing Whisperer" to children and adults of all ages.   Thank you for your readership.  Here is to a lifetime filled with reading and writing.

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge: Day 15

Day 15:  Who are your book blogging mentors?

Mentors?  Well, I don't have a one-on-one relationship with an experienced blogger, but I do have blogs which I think do it right, and visit almost daily.  As I said in an earlier post on the challenge, one of my blogging goals this, my second year of blogging, is to find some of that mentoring love out there in the blogosphere.  So, here are my go-to blogs and why:

I've got egg on my face, after writing the above paragraph a day ago, I woke up in the middle of the night and realized I do have a mentor! First off, I have to apologize to Alexis over at Alexis @ Reflections of a Bookaholic because it actually took me a day to realize my big boo boo.  Back when I first started blogging and it felt like no one even knew by blog existed Alexis was leaving comments. She gave me a big boost to my blogging ego when it was most needed. So, yes, I do have a mentor and it would be Alexis over at Reflections of a Bookaholic. Thanks Alexis. I knew when I wrote this post I'd forgotten something!

So, here are my go-to blogs and why:
Reflections of a Bookaholic-Adult Fiction, Great Reviews, and Commenter Extraordinaire
Leeswammes' Blog Adult Fiction, Great Reviews, Challenges, Hops
Film English Writing Ideas and use of shorts
Roof Beam Reader Adult Fiction, Great Reviews, Challenges, Read-Alongs
Book'd Out Adult Fiction, Reviews
Silver's Reviews Adult Fiction, Reviews
Unabridged Chick Adult Fiction, Reviews
Rose City Reader Adult Fiction, Reviews, Challenges, Hops
Nerdy Book Club Random Thoughts on Children's Literature

I'm sure I'll think of a few more, but these came to mind immediately!  Like I said earlier, personal relationships with folks out in the blogosphere is a priority this year!

Happy reading to all! ☮

  1. You've named several of my favorite bloggers and a couple who are new to me! I can't really name a mentor but some other blogs I admire are Beth Fish Reads, BermudaOnion's Weblog, and Care's Online Book Club. They are master commenters, too!
